Would I regret changing to a 4670K ?

I'm currently running an i7 3820, on AsRock X79 Extreme 4 mobo, 8 Gb RAM, and a Radeon HD7950 (3 GB).
I'm not sure why, but I'm tempted to weigh in the 3820 and the mobo, and switch to socket 1150, i5 4670K. I do a bit of gaming, a bit of video editing, and a bit of office work.
Big question, would I regret the change ? Is it worth it ? I could finance most of the change by selling the 3820 and mobo, so probably wouldn't have much cash outlay. Your thoughts ??? Thanks

Multiple Graphics Cards often only leads to problems (due to non-optimization) that a gain in performance you would expect... personally I would choose the most powerful single-GPU instead of going for a CrossFire/SLI. (unless you need a configuration with dual / triple / quad etc. for something specific)
I definitely would stay with the HD7950 still for a while, and then in the future buy something better and new.
What you could add, again in my opinion is more RAM, that's all.
Architecture differences are not justified, the i7 3820 is still a high end processor. Also processing performance with each generation is now looking abysmal. No games will be bottlnecked and 3d work and other editing applications make use from hyperthreading. Also the 2011 platform has more PCI lanes and other advantages.

No way, It would be a downgrade for many aspects.
Also the HD7950 is still a nice beast.
There is no reason for an upgrade, you have a perfectly good PC.

P.s. if you really want to upgrade something, I would say to add more RAM, 16GB will be of help in video editing.
What is your current RAM configuration 2+2 2+2 or 4+4?
If you have 4+4 you can add other 2 sticks (preferably of the same brand and specification).
If you have 2+2 2+2 you can try to sell them, and directly buy a 16GB Kit (4+4 4+4 in Quad Channel configuration).

Thanks for your thoughts. I didn't think there would be much in it. The ram is a pair of Crucial Ballistix 4 Gb sticks running at 2000 mhz. I'll get a bigger SSD soon, now that the prices are coming down. Problem with the graphics card is that I'll probably only get £100 for mine on ebay, and I'll need to add at least another £200 to that to get a better one. I could always add another for a crossfire solution. Is it worth it ?
