Would IGMP Snooping Be Missed On A Home Network?

Right now I can get an 8 port gigabit switch for less than it's 5 port cousin (TL-SG108). But the 8 port doesn't have IGMP Snooping whereas the 5 port does. Would that feature be missed on a small home network where maybe 1 or 2 of three devices would be streaming video?

Not sure how to respond. If you are actually using multicast then you would know about the thing necessary to configure IGMP to make it work. It is so hard to say many people on these forums do not know that say netflix is more of a TCP file transfer than what has historically been called video streaming.

As far as configuration, the TL-SG105 is an unmanaged switch that is suppose to support IGMP (plug-n-play). Is this just marketing hype from TP-Link? The 5 port is the only one in the SG10x unmanaged series that supports IGMP, 8 port and above do not.

I just want to add gigabit LAN speed to my cheap TP-Link router that only has 10/100 switch ports. I know Netflix, via silverlight, doesn't use IGMP, but I'm not sure about youtube or TV broadcast that I stream through Time Warner (twctv.com). Youtube is now HTML5, but Time Warner is still using FlashPlayer - do either of those use IGMP?

Thanks...
