Like..I swear I watched the videos(im watching the newegg one right now again)

http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-2550903/guys-retard.html#15366589

so far what I have got done
-Installed the CPU
-Installed the Power supply
-Installed the memory

I took a picture of the remaining parts( except the video card I will do that last)

Here is the motherboard

Is it normal that my motherboard has 9 holes but I can only screw in 7 into the tower even with heatsinks( i used 2, and one is remaining not even being used)

Here are the remaining parts

Here is the plethora of cords( i understand they all go together and I read the manual but its all very confusing)

First and foremost you have to look at it one step at a time. Don't look at building the PC as the goal, break it down into several categories. For example: CPU, so install the cpu and the heatsink; Hard Drive(s) - install drives into case, hookup power cables for drives, hookup sata cables from drive to motherboard.

Your case should have came with stand-offs which are hex shaped screws that have a male and female threads.
There is likely several more holes in the case then what the motherboard has.
Put the rectangle port cover in the case (you will need to use a small flathead screw drive to get it pressed completely in around all 4 sides.
Then you can slide your motherboard in to see which holes in the case need the standoffs installed.
You can then screw the motherboard down to the case.

Then just break it down by activity.
Install motherboard 24pin and 4 (or 8) pin connector for cpu.
Then screw your hard drives into the case
Then attaché the cables to the drive and from the drive to motherboard
Do the same for any dvd drives you have
Install graphics card if you are using a standalone card.
Follow the mobo manual and attach the front_audio, usb, and front panel header connections
Install any additional hardware you have and then you should be ready to power it on.

The motherboard should attach with all screw holes if the tower supports the appropriate motherboard form factor.

However, there are similarities in the layouts and it is easy to misjudge which set of holes to use. Double check you are using the properly labeled holes.

Regarding PSU cables, they are pretty much like lego, check the shape of the hole matches the shape of the cable. Once you are familiar with which cables you need for which parts you can then figure out the cleanest way to arrange them within your case.

ty for the answer

yes I have 3 stand-offs I used 2 of them but the 3rd one doesnt even have a hole in the tower( well it does but the motherboard doesnt have the corresponding hole the tower has)

so an SSD is attached to the motherborad, correct? SATA 3(6Gb/s) ports..do I need to purchase those or do they come installed into the motherboard ?

I have triple and quadruple checked my mothreboad

Motherboard ASRock H97 PRO4 LGA1150/ Intel H97/ DDR3/ SATA3&USB3.0/ A&GbE/ ATX Motherboard

Tower Thermaltake Versa H21 CA-1B2-00M1NN-00 No Power Supply ATX Mid Tower Case (Black)

There are multiple form factors for an SSD drive. There is ones shaped like a hard drive, ones that attach to a motherboard, and ones that are add-on cards like a gpu.
Now since you said sata3 you likely have the one shapped like a hard drive. You will connect that to the motherboard with a provided sata cable.

The ssd drive itself does not just come with the motherboard, you would have had to order it seperatly

I found the sata cables...there are 2 of them, on one side they are both the same but on the other they are shaped diffrerently..which one should I use? And do I only plug them into the smaller golden connector on the SSD(7 pins)..what about the bigger golden connector with 16 pins)

here is what I mean http://i.imgur.com/QdDSyUp.jpg what do i do about the golden pins on the left side?

Some sata cables are shapped with the cable coming off the connecter at a 90 degree angle. For an ssid drive use a straight and not angled one. the angled ones are good for dvd drives or full sized hard drives.

The 16pin connector is actually 15 pin and that is the power connector. Your power supply should have cables for that.

appreciate your answers once again, thanks to you I have done some more progress...

a few more questions...I ''kind off'' figured out some of the cords but

Where does the cord from the default fan (the one that came attached to the tower) go? This cord
http://i.imgur.com/FC7xw9s.jpg

pwr_fan1/2 or cha_fan1/2 ? I am reading some threads about it but cant get a definite answer..

There are 6 of the same cords http://i.imgur.com/BBhWnJF.jpg that fit the SSD and none of those cords have a name ( like USB 3.0 or AUDIO HDD) ..is it safe to use any of these cords to plug into the SSD?

really you could use any of them for the fan, just go ahead and use cha-fan

You can use any of the Sata power cords, the 15pin ones for the sata drive will have a little L notched into it. the 4 hole ones are called molex connectors, you likely wont have anything that uses those.

The USB 3.0, audio, and front panel cables will come from the case, not the power supply.

oh yes, my bad i mixed them up when typing ( but i didnt mix them up when plugging into the motherboard)

Ok this is what I have done so far, everything is pretty much complete except the cords and a few other things

http://i.imgur.com/wWUebcV.jpg

-What Cord do I use to plug into the video card? Theese ones http://i.imgur.com/DZPaW4V.jpg or the ones that are PCI-e cords..then the problem is my PCI-e cords http://i.imgur.com/Y2iBvTV.jpg
The card comes with an 8-pin splitter that connects to two points on the card. The PCIe power cable from my supply looks as though it can be 6-pin OR 8-pin, basically the same problem this user had http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-1870383/pci-connect-graphics-card-power-supply.html
-For the SDD which SATA port do I use on the motherboard( there are 6 ports but only says SATA 2, SATA3, SATA4 and SATA 5)

Also I used one of the screws that came with the tower to hold the Video card in place, is that ok?http://i.imgur.com/uPqMJkt.jpg (it appears the video card did not come with screws)

There will be several left over power cords when you are finished. They put in enough cables if you are like me and have 6 hard drives in 1 tower to be your file server and need the molex connectors for different things, etc.

Use the power plugs on the PSU. Those little adapters are for junk power supplies that do not have the proper connections. If your power supply does not have the connections I would strongly advise you to return it for a better model. In short, if it does not have the right GPU connection, then the power supply was never ment to handle that level of a card.

Have you plugged in the front port/front button connections from the case to the motherboard yet?

Yes the screws that come with the case are ment for whatever you put in the case.

Those hex screws are for holding the board to the case, for video/addon cards, and for the case panels themselves (some cases have thumb screws for the case panels). The smaller round ones are for your hard drives and dvd drives.

Ok from my research the card has 2x 6 pin power ports
The power supply has 2 6+2 power cables (so there is 8 wires, 6 of them together and 2 of them separated on the same cable bundle).
You will plug the 6pin portion of those cables into the graphics card.

Since you are running an intel and not a 125w amd, and since you have an SSD and not a hard drive you might just make it on the power and be ok.
If you notice any issues or especially if the computer shuts off after gaming for a while, you might just need a bigger power supply.

My bad i am like really slow

I found the 4 plug pin on the motherboard and do I use one of the cords from the power supply on it, correct?

those cords with the 4 round holes are molex connectors. Less and less devices use those connectors so on a straightforward build it is very possible to not need any of them.

FYI if you only have the 1 case fan that you mentioned then you should in the future look to add more. You want at minimum one in the back for exhaust and 1 in front for intake, then next you would add 1 to the top for exhaust, then if you need more you would add 1 at the bottom (or 2nd in front depending on case).

Do you think my PC will overheat with just 1 fan? So 5 fans is what I need to be looking for?

but whwere do I plug these molex connectors in?

And what would I need to plug into the PCIE 1( PCIE pwer_1)would I use the molex connector cords or these http://i.imgur.com/ftIyvdj.jpg cords? ( the tomshwardware thread you linked the cords are the same color as these)
