Would it be worth it?

I'm gonna be building a new PC this Christmas, and had a few questions about upgrading. I have a GTX 760 and an i7-4790k. I'm planning on upgrading to a GTX 1070/1080 for sure, but i'm confused on the CPU and RAM. I currently have 8GB of DDR3 and would like another 8 to have 16. Should I stick with the 4790k, add another 8GB of DDR3, and get a 1080. Or should I upgrade my MOBO and CPU to support DDR4 and an i7-6700k, and get a 1070. For a build that I want to last for around 2-3 years, what would be better performance wise. (Sorry if you don't understand me, I suck at explaining things, If needed I can try to clear up a few things.)

Solution
I7-4790K is still very good. It hardly seems worth it to change to skylake for minimal improvement.
Of course worth is something only YOU can determine.

Performance difference between ddr3 and ddr4 is negligible.

Also, 8gb of ram seems to be fine unless you are heavily multitasking.
Games are built around using 2-3gb.

If you do not already have a ssd for windows, that would be high on my upgrade priority list.
