So my laptop's wi-fi is not working properly and i ordered an usb 300 mbps wireless adaptor for it.
Would it work properly and not interfere with the wi-fi board inside of the laptop?

Might want to ask before making the purchase. Also to note, what is the make and model of your laptop(SKU would help two fold) and what is the make and model of your wireless adapter? Have you tried troubleshooting the wireless adapter onboard the laptop? In short, no, it should interfere but it does mean that you're no longer availing the sleek nature of a laptop with the need to add and occupy a USB port.

It's an old compaq cq58 and i'm using a tp-link wireless router. i have tried troubleshooting the onboard wireless adapter and up to no good.
Will I be able to use the adapter that i had ordered without any problems?
I ordered the Tenda U1 adapter.
thank you for your time.
