Hello All,

Now I don't know much after AM3 and 775 sockets.

SO I am after AMD (I can afford them) I would like to be FX core preferably the FX-6100 Six core.

SO I would like some help getting right motherboard.

I Know Gigabyte are the best for motherboards. but I do like the look of ASUS too.

Here are some I have looked at

GIGABYTE GA-970A
Gigabyte GA-890GPA-UD3H
and
Biostar TA970 AMD

The Biostar one looks really nice but I don't know anything on Biostars reputation and i couldn't' find much on google either.

I know what I need, 2 PCI slots for TV and Sound cards and the Obvious PCIe ( I have ATI HD 3870X2 and a Wi-Fi card installed. and 4 DIMM slots for the RAM min speed of 1600mHz

I will be updating both when 802.11AC is released!

I It needs to be AM3+ but I have no idea what chipset and what vendor so weather stick with AMD chips or go with nVidia.

Budget of 100GBP on Motherboard as I am spending 90GBP on the CPU

Amazon.co.uk, Ebay.co.uk, Scan.co.uk, novatech.co.uk these sites please.

Maybe be Windows 8 Compatible?

PS

I don't card on SATA speed, and weather it has RAID, or USB3 as I can get a PCIe card for that, Onboard graphics would be nice as current card on way out, but not bothered as as PCIe ones are better!

Solution

Care to elaborate as to why? Newegg has the TA970 for $55 at the moment and what user reviews I've been able to gather is that Biostar is good, if basic. A moderator at Overclock.net said they tend to over-engineer everything for reliability since they're used by many OEM PC manufacturers.

:)

FUnny, would you recommend a good motherboard for the FX-6300?

All I know is Gigabyte are the best and Intel are best for CU but the prices are way too much, I might aswell by a MacPro!
