Hello everyone
I build a PC 6 years ago (a few days ago actually) and wanted some advice on upgrading.
My current rig
Asus Sabertooth 990FX (I got this before r2.0 came out so... 1.0?)
AMD Phenom II 2.8 (OC to 3.0GHz)
16gb Ram
GTX 1070
700w PSU
With a game soon to come out, after seen benchmark scores with the 1070 is supposed to be on average 12,000+ and mine is at 6,000, I found out my CPU is bottlenecking my GTX. I was going to just upgrade my CPU and keep my AM3+ mobo, but Ryzen really caught my interest.
Think this'll be a good build, or maybe what else would be a good build (a plus if the mobo supports SLI) that'll last me another good 5 or so years for gaming and 3D design (I love more cores cause it'll cut my renders down really quick)
MSI X370
2x 8gb Ram
Ryzen 7 1700
or
Ryzen 7 1700X
As for PSU, would 700w still be good or be safe and upgrade to 900w or 1000w?
I don't plan on doing much 4K gaming (maybe not until SC Remaster comes out) but I'm using 21:9 display and may add two more cause pfff why not lol but that's not immediate. More or less my "dream" build if I had a bigger budget.
