I am planning to buy some new parts and do a complete overhaul of my gaming PC.

However I like someone to review my parts before I splurge :wahoo:

The parts want to purchase:
AMD 955 Black Edition - $245.00
XPX HD4870 1gb - $174.99 after rebate
Gigabyte MA790X UD4P - $119.99
OCZ Dual Channel Platinum 2048MB PC12800 DDR3 1600MHz Memory - $41.99
Total + Shipping($1.99): $583.96 - None of these items were taxed

Things that I have: Corsair TX750 Watt, monitor resolution: 1400x900, Windows XP Pro

Some of the main questions I liked address: price drops soon? wait? better prices (take into factor shipping and tax, CA)? better components or combination?

If you need anymore information, please post. So I can help you help me get a better answer :sol:

The memory is wrong. The UD4P is a DDR2 board.

This OCZ would work:

Get 4 GB now because prices of DDR2 will only rise.

As far as general price drops, you'll see some great deals today and tomorrow but I don't see anything else coming soon. Now is a good time to buy.

This would be the DDR3 version of the board:

And this would be the RAM you would need with that:
