Hi, I would like to build my new computer with a 700€ budget.

I'm far from electronic world for a while now, but I don't fear the fingering part of the build.

What do I want ? good question.
I would say that the only demanding use i have would be to casually play strategy games. And I would like my computer to run them for the 5 coming years.
For example, next incoming one requirements :

RECOMMENDED:

Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
OS: Windows 7, 64-bit
Processor: Intel i5 6th generation (or better) / AMD Ryzen 5 1600 (or better)
Memory: 8 GB RAM
Graphics: NVIDIA GTX 1060 (or better) / AMD RX 5500-XT (or better)
Storage: 25 GB available space

Screen : 1920 x 1080 pixels

I came to that :

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3400G 3.7 GHz Quad-Core Processor (€174.94 @ TopAchat)
CPU Cooler: be quiet! Pure Rock Slim 35.14 CFM CPU Cooler (€34.94 @ TopAchat)
Motherboard: MSI B450 TOMAHAWK MAX ATX AM4 Motherboard (€121.57 @ Amazon France)
Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3600 CL18 Memory (€101.78 @ Amazon France)
Storage: Crucial P1 1 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive (€99.99 @ Amazon France)
Video Card: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1650 SUPER 4 GB OC Video Card (€184.94 @ TopAchat)
Case: Antec VSK4000E U3 ATX Mid Tower Case (€42.77 @ Amazon France)
Power Supply: Thermaltake Smart RGB 230V 500 W 80+ Certified ATX Power Supply (€57.54 @ Amazon France)
Total: €818.47

Which is a bit higher than my budget and some comp are not in plus i have no idea about which reasons to chose one or another for : sound card, network/wifi card, case,...

Is this build more expensive than my bufget for bad components choices ? just too high specs for my needs ? or my budget is too low ?

Thank you in advance for your help

Note that the processor comes with a CPU Cooler, so you can save by not getting a third party one right now.
This Intel processor is less expensive and has more CPU cores than the AMD which may be beneficial to you. Also went with a less expensive motherboard and the newer version of your SSD.
Spent more on the power supply because this is the last place you want to skimp on quality.

Solid build. :)

Could shave a few euros with this psu that's manufactured by Seasonic for Antec.

I was wondering, a 256k ssd just for windows and then a 1T for rest isn't a better and cheaper option ?

I read somewhere that ssd storages didn't like games usages for example.

And about the 1650 plus graphic card, I don't really realize how important it is when only playing 4X games.
Wouldn't a 1050 be enough for the coming 5 years 4X games ?

About the same price. Never heard of people having problems putting games on their SSD's. A lot of us including myself put everything on an SSD due to the prices dropping along with the fast speeds.

GPU does matter for 4X games. Now, you don't need the same FPS as an action game, of course, but framerates can affect the experience, especially in ones that have a lot of movement. For example, Anno 1800 isn't going to be very smooth on a GTX 1050 right now.

thank you very much for all answers. Now comes last questions.

Sound card and network/wifi card have specs to look at ?

And about buying the components list, Shoud I stick to pcpartpicker sellers or cheaper ones like aliexpress are however selling from same manufacturers and there's nothing to fear from them ?

Avoid Aliexpress like the plague.

Sound cards are all pretty much the same on motherboards, with only slight variations. Wifi depends on whether you need it. And as for network, it depends if you need something like 5 Gb or 10 Gb.

I need wifi for this computer.

Internet speed test on my current laptop with wifi gives 23mbps down and 30m up, if it has a direct relation with the 5/10Gb mentionned ?

windows can't be downloaded for free and licence for 1ish euro on internet ?

You can run it for free unregistered, with a watermark.

A cheap license is almost always a fraudulent one and hopefully will be blacklisted by Microsoft. I wish you luck on your future build as I not participate in this thread further. I cannot ethically assist anyone who plans to use illegally obtained software licenses, a frequent trick by people phishing credit cards and one of the reasons that licenses are less often available at a discount these days in poorer, non-Western countries.

Sorry for offending your ethic.
As said in first post, i may have studied electronics, i left this world long ago and can't tell much more than the few i read, and i read that cheap windows license are easy to find and works well, was pretty happy with this and didn't look further. yet
