Hi folks, just have a question and I don't often ask questions here unless I really have no idea or I'm not wanting to risk spending money on something that might not be worth it.
I'm hoping to put another 16Gig of RAM on my Mobo to make up to 32. Not too sure it's going to make a huge difference but I'm looking at hopefully improving the performance of Star Citizen and perhaps some improvement with VR and other demanding games, as I mainly game on my PC.

My motherboard is an: ASUS ROG STRIX B550-F GAMING (WI-FI) (https://www.pbtech.co.nz/product/MBDASU25525/ASUS-ROG-STRIX-B550-F-GAMING-WI-FI-ATX-For-AMD-Ryz)

The RAM I purchased with this is: Corsair Vengeance 16GB RAM 2 X 8GB, DDR4, 3200MHz 16GB 2 x 288 DIMM, Unbuffered, 16-18-18-36, LPX Black Heat spreader, 1.35V (https://www.pbtech.co.nz/product/MEMCOR70219/Corsair-Vengeance-16GB-RAM-2-X-8GB-DDR4-3200MHz-16)

CPU:
AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 8 Core,16 Threads, up to 4.4 GHz Precision Boost, Socket AM4, with Wraith Prism with RGB LED , 32MB total Cache ,65W TDP (https://www.pbtech.co.nz/product/CPUAMD03700X/AMD-Ryzen-7-3700X-8-Core16-Threads-up-to-44-GHz-Pr)

GPU: Sapphire PULSE Radeon RX 5700 XT 8GB GDDR6 Graphics Card, GPU Upto 1925MHz,Dual Fan, HDMI+3XDP, 2 Slot, 1X8 Pin, 1X6 Pin, 254mm Length, Max 4 Display (https://www.pbtech.co.nz/product/VGASAP15711/Sapphire-PULSE-Radeon-RX-5700-XT-8GB-GDDR6-Graphic)

What I would like to know is, do I need to specifically put the exact same RAM to be compatible or to even benefit the current configuration that I have? What am I looking for and is there anything that anyone can recommend with my current hardware?
Also and I know this is the incorrect section but would there be any recommendations for a better CPU for this motherboard mentioned or is what I have at current sufficient for a while? I don't seem to be having any problems but as I said, I'd like a bit more oomph when it comes to Star Citizen and VR games.

Thank you so much for any input.

Unless you are purchasing a kit, any other configuration is 50-50 chance. They might work or might not work, but nobody can tell you for sure unless you try yourself. More here...

Star Citizen is a very CPU intensive game and the more threads you have the better it will scale. So the best you can do is 5950x, but is it logical to spend on such a powerful CPU for one single game. Thats your call mate. With 5900x, you will feel a little bump, but anything below that is not worth it.

When your running your games watch the ram usage.
If your pushing close to 16GB then adding ram should help.
If your not then adding ram won't do much for you.

Thanks for the heads up about both the RAM and the CPU.
