Here's my system...

2.66 Ghz P 4
Windows XP Home SP 2
512 Meg Ram
ATI Radeon 9800 Pro Graphics Card
Soundblaster Live Sound Card.

If I added another 512 Meg of memory, would I
see a difference in game performance in games
like Battlefield?

Thanks.

Don't know about overall performance, but map loading will be faster.

Thank you.

Yes you will. The maps will load faster, and there will no longer be any of
the jerky, choppy game play for the first few minutes. My setup is very
similiar to yours and I went from 512megs to 1 gig and noticed a large
improvement. I have even considered going to 2 gigs with the price of ram
these days 🙂

2.4 Ghz P4
1 Gig Ram
MSI Geforce 4 Ti 4200

That system should be running it great now.
I have 3 systems damn near the same. All 2.4 ghz, 1 with 1 gig ram, the rest with 512.
1 with a 9700 Pro, the other two with 9800 Pros.

I run the game at 1600 rez. Screw anti-A. You don't need it at 1600.

The 1 gig system loads maps a bit faster. That is the only difference.

You're always doing good by buying RAM. It's cheap and does increase
performance. Plus, if you get a new PC that requires the same type of
memory, you can always put the modules in the new rig!

HUGE improvment, far quicker map loading times and no stuttering or pauses
at all during game play.

Ive played the BF series since release, ive upgraded video, cpu and ram and
can say the change 512mb ram > 1gb made by far the best improvment.
