Obviously, we only have a very good guess at the upcoming 3090 and 3 series GPUs, but I'm curious if the Pros around here think my current mobo and CPU setup would make it a waste?
(Id sell my 2080ti to help fund it)

I'll post my PC specs below, but my main concern is trying to get 120FPS in most games (or very close) at 4k with the bells and whistles maxed, or very close - OVER HDMI 2.1 for my OLED tv.

My main questions and concerns (some of which will only be answered once these drop. :) )

  1. Is it PCI-E 4.0, and how much would my current Mobo with 3.0 gimp it
  2. Would my modded i7-7700k at 5.0 GHz cockblock it
  3. Does it, in fact, have HDMI 2.1
  4. How crucial is water-cooling that beast for 120 steady fps in most games, while maxed at 4k
  5. Will it fit inside my extended-atx, full-size case or will I need to build a separate closet to house it. Have you seen the pics of it next to the 2080ti??? OMG its freaking hugeeee.
Current PC Specs 8-26-20:
i7-7700k (IHS de-lidded & replaced w/ custom RockitCool 15% larger, all Copper IHS, with Conductonaught Liquid Metal)
All Cores at 5.0 GHz at 1.36v - Corsair H100v2 240mm AIO with 4 Corsair MagLev Fans in Push/Pull.
-
MSI Gaming M5 z270 Mobo
32 GB G-Skill Ram at 3600Mhz
Corsair RM1000i PSU
-
Aorus 2080ti Waterforce Extreme w/ 240mm AIO and 4 MagLevs in Push/Pull
maxed at 61c (the highest it will get) it locks in at 2.1 GHz, and the Ram is o/c to 8000MHz.
65" LG C9OLED 4k TV w/ HMDI 2.1 for 120Hz at 4k w/ G-Sync. (Currently stuck at 60Hz until a GPU with HDMI 2.1! lol)
27" Asus ROG 4k 144hz 1ms Gaming Monitor via Display Port
27" Asus ROG 2k 144hz 1ms Gaming Monitor via Display Port
-
1TB Samsung 960Evo NVMe Boot Drive
1TB Samsung 970Evo Plus Gaming Drive
256GB Samsung 840 Pro SSD Storage Drive
256GB Kingston HyperX SSD Storage Drive
8TB Seagate Exos 7200 RPM Enterprise HDD w/64GB Optane Acceleration

It’s COMPLETELY all speculation at this point. Nobody knows any of those answers.
