fbm211 :
I been hearing a-lot about setting fsb and dram to 1:1 in the posts. It seems to be a very important setting to everyone.I just ran cpuz and mine is at 5:8 Is that bad?? how do I get mine where it should be? I have a GA-P35-DS4 motherboard / E8400 / 2gig Crucial ddr2 1066 balistix dual ch memory.fsb is currently set to 333x9. core temp reports core#0at 42c core#1at 45c. no load.(for a possible oc if those temps are safe) Another post told someone to do 444x9 to get it right.I dont know if I want to go that high since I just got my new build running good.
What Performance issues are you trying to address?
Does you system seem lagging?
Except for the e-Pencil, there is no reason to OC for the sake of OCing.
The E8400 is quite a powerful CPU at stock values.
If you went cheap and bought an E2160 which is not very powerful at stock, I would definitely say OC.
In your case, OC if you want or things feel sluggish.
However, don't think failing to do so is not "Doing it right".
The Nice thing about your system is that in 1-2 years if the CPU does get sluggish, you can push it 1/3 or more faster if need be. But if you don't need to now, don't worry about not doing it.
