Hi I have the firmware for the samsung galaxy s4 kitkat through lollipop on my PC and I have a tablet which I was hoping to get updated from kitkat since the update seems to be really trashy. I was wondering what would happen if I were to use the samsung galaxy s4 firmware and try to install it on to the tablet. The tablet is the insignia flex 8" ns-14t002 (crappy tablet i know) but I'm just wondering would it work if I were to try it? Is it possible?

you cannot use firmware from one device on a completely different one unless you want to brick it. insignia is a very cheap brand so it would be surprising if they had any updates at all. you can to go the tablets manufacturers webpage to see if they have any updates for your tablet or if you really want to update to a later version you could always root it and install (if any) a custom version of android on it
When you said you want to install Firmware for a phone onto a tablet, I thought it was a really bad idea.. Firmware is for Hardware, and a tablet isn't a phone. Then I realized you're talking about upgrading the Operating System from Android 4.2 to 4.4 or even 5.x. Guess what, I still think the whole idea is bad ! Use whatever Utility is on the Tablet to see if it wants an update, otherwise it is limited to whatever is the latest version that supports it.
