Looking to upgrade my PC
would the Gigabyte Gtx 1070 G1 pair well with a Ryzen 5 3600?
any help would be appreciated

The Ryzen 3600 will pair well with any GPU.

At 2560x1440 resolutions or below, sure. At 4K resolution, no.

It's not a matter of whether or not it pairs well with your CPU - it's a matter of whether it pairs well with your monitor.

So, tell us the following about your monitor's specs:

• What is its resolution?
• What is its refresh rate?
• Does it have FreeSync, GSync, or neither?
  • If it has FreeSync, what is the FreeSync range on it?

Currently only have a 1080p monitor which runs at 60hz with no freesync/gsync, planning on upgrading to a 1080p 144hz at some point in the future. I am currently running a gtx 1050 ti and i3 6100 so this is a well needed upgrade especially for my rift S. im planning on upgrading my motherboard as well however i have found a good Motherboard / cpu deal with the 3600

It'll do respectably at higher refresh at 1080p, but I don't think it'll hit 144fps. If I were to guesstimate, I'd say 90-100 fps at that resolution would be what it's capable of.
