Hey what's up guys!
I am upgrading my specs from this;
CPU: AMD A4-6300 APU W/ Radeon HD Graphics
GPU: Radeon HD 8370D
RAM: 16 GB
Power: 400W
Motherboard: ASRock FM2A68M-HD+
OS: Windows 10 / 64-BIT

to this;
CPU: AMD Athlon X4 860K (3.7GHz) Quad core processor
GPU: NVIDIA GTX 960 2GB

would these new specs work fine with eachother, I am aware of the PSU, but it is like minimum 350W to run the GPU I believe? I am not too sure.

Thank you for your help guys!

Ok thank you!
Are the CPU and GPU fine together other than the PSU?

It would work, I wouldn't say well. The CPU would still be a bottleneck to the GPU in certain games.

It would be a bare minimum to make the latest games playable but with framerate drops to 30fps or below.

It could be considered a waste of money because there is no upgrade from there for a faster CPU. But if you can get that for a 1/3 or 1/2 of the cost of a new platform then maybe it is worth it to you.

I am upgrading to these specs because the current specs I got run csgo, etc at like 30fps avg and I want to upgrade just for a while so I can save for a better motherboard and so on. Right now I am on a tight budget of £100-£150, that is why I chose these. If you have any other ideas which are compat with my motherboard and would run better than this within the budget price range please do give me ideas. Thank you

Thanks for the help! I got one last question, should I get a better PSU? my current one is from a company called ATNG and it is model: ATM-400FB at it is a 400W one. Is this good enough to stay on until I upgrade to a better motherboard or should I get a better one? I am on a tight budget so if I buy another it will need to be a used one.

It has worked well for my current specs but I understand this upgrade might be too much, it does say the minimum watt is 300 or something on the NVIDIA website. I am kind of worried about this bit.

MERGED QUESTION
Question from kebbles : "Is this a good combo?"

There is no reason to buy an A10 if you are buying a graphics card. You can get an X4 860K or 880K. That power supply may not be up to the new graphics card. I bet it doesn't have the 6 pin power plug required for that graphics card.

Which would you recommend out of the 860K or the 880K?

I messaged PC World in UK and they said a great option would be to use a A10-6800K with a GTX 960 2GB for now, is this a good option? I can get the 6800k for around £5 extra than the X4 880K

So the 880K is the best to go with right now?

I would say yes as long as it doesn't cost that much more than the 860K. http://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/AMD-Athlon-X4-880K-vs-AMD-Athlon-II-X4-860K/m121029vs3265

I would buy used. The Athlon X4 860K went for around $60 new a couple years ago and the 880K was about $20-30 more. The 860K seems to have gone up in price because they no longer make it. Either one is really only worth about $60 if you compare them with new chips.

See the 880K compared to a $60 Pentium G4560 http://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/AMD-Athlon-X4-880K-vs-Intel-Pentium-G4560/m121029vs3892
