Would these upgrades make 4K video editing any quicker?

Hi everyone,
I use my desktop for editing and rendering out 4K videos and while I don't have hardly any complaints of my current specs and wait times in editing, I was wondering if the upgrade I was thinking about going through with would be night and day compared to what I have now. My current specs are as followed:

  • Windows 7
AMD FX-8350 eight core CPU 4.0GHz
    1TB 7200rpm WD drive
    16GB DDR3 1866 memory
    Nvidia GTX 970

My most used programs are Adobe Photoshop CC, After Effects CC, Vegas Pro 11, and Dragonframe. I use many plug-ins for AE as well such as Optical Flares, RSMB, etc.

I am severely considering upgrading to a Samsung 850 EVO 500GB SSD and possibly upgrading to 32GB of memory if it will severely impact my rendering times.
The EVO is currently on a really good sale right now and I'd love to know if it would be worth it for me to get one. I hear the difference between HDD and SSD is big and that SSDs are very quick. I would plan on using my current 1TB drive as a secondary hard drive in my computer.

I understand that I would be downgrading in storage but between my programs and after I finish a video project I would never use up more than 300GB tops on my storage if even that. My 1TB HDD has always had 800-700GB of free space.

Has anyone used an SSD for editing purposes? Would it help cut down time for rendering, opening up files, etc.? Should I go out and purchase the EVO 850 while they are on sale or would the performance hardly change?

would think upgrading to 32gb of ram might make more sense than a ssd

not sure a ssd will greatly help editing speed

but if you can afford both ram and ssd just about everything is faster with a ssd

it drives me crazy when i have to use peoples pcs with mechanical drives as everything seems so slow

so in my opinion cant go wrong with a ssd even if it doesnt greatly increase editing speed--and the 850 evo is a great choice
