Good Day, I am looking for a 24" Monitor for Gaming within €180 price range.
After looking around for a while, I ended up choosing AOC 23.8 inch IPS Ultra-Thin Monitor. I loved it since it's ISP and really Thin. Would it be a good choice? If not, what would you advice instead?
Depending on the game you are playing a 144hz monitor is recommended if you can afford it. It especially makes a difference in twitch shooters like Counterstrike or COD. I personally use this monitor and love it.
If you have an AMD video card you might consider going for a Freesync monitor even if it's a TN panel, though I do see an IPS-type Freesync monitors in your price range on the U.K Newegg site -
The potential down side to that particular monitor is the white bezel, which wouldn't be a big deal to me but might to you. The price as listed in the cart is even lower than the AOC monitor you have picked out.
You should be able to find Freesync TN monitors in your price range - I would choose Freesync TN over a non-Freesync IPS-type unless you are really picky about colors or viewing angles.
Unfortunately if you have an Nvidia graphics card you won't be able to buy a 1080p G-Sync monitor in your price range unless you find a deal on a factory refurbished unit, which might be worth considering if you come across one.
Otherwise, I think the one you have picked out is fine.
@Marcus52 thank you for a detailed answer. I am indeed Nvidia user, and know that G-Sync is currently way out of my reach. Will have to wait until that technology gets cheaper.
The Samsung Monitor you have suggest seems great. Unfortunatelly, it will cost me almost €300 with all the Duty and Shipping costs.
@ocmooreiv thank you, I will think about 144Hz monitors.
