Would This CPU upgrade give me a noticeable improvement?

Right now i have a dell inspiron 530 With a Pentium Dual Core E5400 I want to Upgrade to a E8500. Since i know my motherboard cannot take a dual core CPU. My Graphics card is a Sahphire HD7750 with 1GB GDDR5. I want to know if this CPU was compatible with my system? and If i upgraded my CPU to another dual core, Would i see a noticeable improvement when i play games? Thanks for the help.

Yes, it should be nearly twice as fast.

If your motherboard shows a G33 chipset, you could also run a Core 2 Quad, as well as Core 2 Duo. If it is a G31 chipset, you can run any Core 2 Duo
