This build is also good with RX 560 4GB version (to max out details and maybe resolution) and i3 8100 with 4 Cores.
The i3 8100 is as fast as Ryzen 5 1400 proof:

The i3 buildnis good apart from the raidmax , swap it for the cx450 & its all good

The issue though is its $100 more than the ryzen 1200 build & we have no idea what the op's topline budget is

If its approaching $700 id honestly still probably go with a ryzen 1400 over the i3 , yeah its not as strong on outright gaming performance but on a future proofing level its undoubtably better.

^ its a good build apart from psu , ram could be faster but no great shakes

The issue with i3 8100 isnt the cpu , ita a good cpu at a good price.

The price of z370 boards though !?! Kill it for me when youre looking at a fairly budget (for intel) cpu.
Having to pay as much for a board as the CPU kind of makes it look bad value

Intel need to get the cheaper h/b series boards out there now so people have more options on the budget end of the spectrum .

I have my doubts theyll ever appear personally.

I have searched for the cheapest parts on Part Picker site.
But it can be cheaper if you search it on Amazon or somewhere else.

^ yes not criticizing your parts (apart from the psu again still).

Thwre are no cheap boards for the i3 8100 , intel bought the release forward to burst amd's bubble & only highish end series boards are available.
You already picked the cheapest one there whichnis still nearly $150.

Psu still needs changing , the budget evga ones you kow have no idea what youre getting .
Could be superflower , could be outsourced to RSY (which makes them kind o junky) . the bt is rated at 30c & is group regulated so it is in undoubtably fairly crap - which would be fine at $30 but not at $50 when a cx is only $7 more

I agree with you.
He can also use the system with Ryzen 3 1200 and then change the GPU with the 4GB RX 560 version?
This is the best combination i think?
