Would this graphics card fit in my motherboard?

I have a lenovo sharkbay motherboard and im looking to buy a nvidia gtx 1050 gpu. Would that gpu fit into my motherboard? Also, is my mobo an ATX or Micro-ATX? , thanks.

As long as it has a PCIE slot then yes a GTX 1050 would work fine. If you could take a picture of the motherboard then we can tell you if it's ATX or MATX, I can also double check the GPU compatibility.

The video card will fit in your motherboard. What matters is 'does it fit in your case'.

You need to do is look up the length of the video card you want.
Then open the case and measure clearance from the back of the case to the first obstruction (likely to be the drive cage). And along the back of the computer from the motherboard to the top of where the back brackets on the video card will go. (If you know you do not have a SFF pc, you can skip this 2nd measure).

As for your motherboard's form factor. Lenovo used that in many different sized computers including small form factor (SFF). This means your case could be one of several sizes. It is also possible that Lenovo used one of several motherboard sizes. It is probably a micro-atx. But the way to be sure is to measure and then good micro-atx dimensions and compare.

The 1050ti is the best value. They are under 200.

Some of those Lenovo systems have proprietary motherboards with half length slots and not much space in the case.

Run it and see if it gives you exact motherboard name/model number. They mainly use Intel H81 chipset boards that support PCIE gen 2.

Those systems usually have proprietary 180W or 280W PSUs. You mean you have a 500W PSU or you're planning to buy one?

The 1050 is not a power hungry card and it can run on a 500W PSU easily provided that PSU is a good real 500W unit.

i do have a graphics card in the system already. its a nvidia gt 705 which is currently in my motherboard.

i dont think my motherboard is a micro atx but i will check. If it isnt how would i make my cpu work with a new motherboard?

He has no clue what he has it could be a non standard size from a box store PC that will not work in another case and you should always ask what PSU he has before just saying it will work with a video card.
I have seen some HP that come with a non standard board use the CPU for graphics and a 220 watt power supply.

I will leave for other expert to give you better answer for mobo. This is what I found so far. i5-4460 is 4th gen Haswell Refresh 1150 socket CPU so cheap mobo with H81 and B85 may not work without bios update. H97 will definitely work for your Haswell Refresh CPU but I do not find any on newegg. Amazon has cheapest used H97 mobo for around $100. You may want to look for cheap used H97 or Z97 on Ebay. If the obsolete 1150 socket mobo is expensive and you can return CPU, then consider getting 6th or 7th gen CPU with 1151 socket mobo and DDR4 memory

Another 2 option is to get 8th gen CPU i3 8100 (straight 4 cores so equivalent to your i5 4460). Of course you need Z370 mobo and DDR4 memory. The other is go with Ryzen 5 AMD CPU.
