Would this PC be able to run most games?

Hi there, I'm upgrading my PC, and have a list of parts ready to buy. I've put all my parts on pcpartpicker and there aren't any conflicts or issues, here is the build (no monitor, peripherals):

Just wondering if this is good enough to run most games on High these days? I'm thinking of changing my CPU to this:

And getting a 1TB external HDD.

Prefect build, but get a higher PSU, 750w should do the trick.

right to start with it is all perfectly compatible secondly I would recommend saving a bit and getting a i5 4670k as there is only 2-3 frames between them in gaming at most but you can reclaim those and more by spending the saved money on a better graphics card as the 7850 is quite poor nowadays and will struggle with some games on high

Yeah that should be fine, i'd get the 750w PSU as well. Gives more room in case you want to overclock or upgrade any components.

I suggest you to get a higher latency ram, you chose the 1333mhz. Get a higher one, around 1866mhz. Get the i5 4670k if you plan to game only, but if this is for a workstation, then the 4770k is perfect. Then get a more powerful card if this is a pure gaming build. It's just imbalance right now for gaming. For workstation, you also need a faster ram.

But to answer your question if this would run most games, then yes it would.

Current performance of your 7850 would be around 40fps at 1080p ultra settings.

get the i5 4670k and a msi z87 g41 pcmate and then go for a gtx 760 or 770 if you can afford it that bundle is overpriced and unneeded

yes just checked nice case btw
the gpu isn't too long and the mobo is not E-atx so it will fit fine

Awesome. I think i'm going to pass on forking out a ton for new RAM, and upgrade that at a later date.

Final question, is the Asus z87-k any better than the AsRock z87?

no not unless you want to delid your cpu and overclock on a water loop as the main reason people buy better boards is for better vrms for overclocking and sli but by the time you need sli there will be a new cpu socket and haswell overclocks badly cause of the crappy thermal paste intel are using

Thanks for the help, bought all the parts last week and built it on Sunday, testing out some games now. Getting around 70fps in FC3 w/ it all on high, Skyrim runs like a dream on ultra aside from Whiterun for some reason, and GTA IV unsurprisingly doesn't run brilliantly, but its a huge improvement from my last build.
