Quoted from another site:
For some context, I play on a mid-2009 MacBook Pro (bootcamp to Windows 8.1). This baby is rocking Nvidia GeForce 9400M 256mb with all the processing power a 3.06 ghz Core 2 Duo. I'm 90% sure I'm not even getting use out of half of my 8GB 1333MHZ RAM as it's over my max specs (and I seem to get high idle...)
Now I'm no expert but I don't think this system should not be able to run DayZ at all. I mean I couldn't play GTA IV if peds/traffic were enabled. I couldn't run Dark Souls un-optimized PC port. I can't play the mod without my processor lighting up like the sun! I can, however, play the SA with no FPS drop in cities, provided I play on "very low" settings (view distance is full so technically custom). I think there are some settings in DayZ that will bottleneck machines, so just play around with those and you should be able to get good performance with a 'bad' rig.
you seem to meet these recommended specifications.
