Battlefield 4 is not optimized very well for more than 4 cores. I have an i7 3930k, which has 12 threads with hyperthreading. Battlefield does not use all 12 threads, as I've monitored this myself.

Regarding the OP, you'll be above 60FPS some of the time, but Battlefield 4's overall experience is all over the place. You're going to get big dips and you're going to hit high...
Assuming you're talking about a 1080p display? If so, you should be fine, but may want to turn Anti-Aliasing (AA) down a notch or 2 if you're not hitting 60FPS.

Intel is faster core-per-core, but BF4 is pretty optimized for multi-core CPUs like the 8-core FX-8320. If you did go Intel, you could grab a i5-4690k and Gigabyte GA-Z97-HD3 for a bit more.

Itll run at sub 60 maybe about 50fps my rig will go faster only b of the fact i Got a 8350 and a 990 chipset mobo on ultra also 500w is too low theres a risk of blowi,g it so i reccomend 700 or 650 just leave some reason too close too late.

Don't expect a smooth experience at all times. Apparently, the game runs a lot better on Windows 8, so you might want to consider that (if you can handle the horrid UI).

Does it use more than 4 cores in 64 Multiplayer maps? If so, the OP would absolutely benefit from more cores. Granted, the level of benefit may not outweigh the additional cost.

Either way, IMHO, all signs indicate that core count will start to matter more in newer engines. The Xbox One and PS4 using 8-core CPUs, mobile devices are moving toward octal cores, etc...
