Would this PSU do the job?

I have a hp pavilion p7-1234, and have just purchased a sapphire radeon 7850 2gb gddr5 graphics card. Along with the card I also purchase the HEC orion 585 watt power supply, would this power supply do the job, and not catch fire or ruin my computers components. I only use the computer a couple days a week, and mostly play a game called Flight Simulator X.

No. Not enough current(amps) on the +12V rail. I don't understand why you would buy a power supply not knowing whether or not it would work with the new video card.

I have been looking at the Corsair CX 600M, that looks more than sufficient. Can any one tell me if this would work with my computer, and newly bought graphics card

If you want to go cheaper you can get the Antec VP 450 which would work. or the XFX 550W. Make sure everything fits in your case though.

The Corsair 430W / 500W would also work. The wattage isn't the only factor.
