Hello everyone, I wanted to ask, would a gtx 660 work with a ASUS M5A99X EVO R2.0 motherboard. I am making a build with the amd fx-8350 so would that also be compatible. Thanks.

I dont know when i look up the specs for it it says it has only 2.0 x16 pcie slots and no 3.0 and gtx 660 need 3.0 so idk.

Amd doesn't have true support for PCI-E3, so it will run at PCI-E 2, no big deal, one of these days AMD will join today's world

You could buy the highest end rADEON OR NVIDIA card and that board shold run it but becareful about bottle necking your gpu with your cpu

Cool thanks, but now I'm starting to think I might want an intel cpu but I can't break my budget, what should i do?

Hate to say it, but it's the same thing I tell my clients - you need to stick to your Budget or change the timetable if that allows for upgrading the budget....it's sort of simple as that....and for me, that's generally money out of my pocket when I say it....one other option I'll throw out is go with the higher price rig and eliminate an iten till slightly down the road....in many cases that tends to be the GPU of choice, but then again if you can get by with the built in graphics engine or have or could even borrow a discrete graphics card for a couple of weeks, then there's a chance the price might drop a few bucks or one of the ones you like might go on sale or something like that 😉 It's doubtful prices will go up (except maybe on DRAM)

No I appreciate your realistic input 😛 Someone previously said not to bottle neck my gpu with my cpu but can a fx-8350 bottleneck anything, is it not the most powerful amd cpu?

On the AMD Platform, Yes, it's their strongest CPU
