I am questioning if this build would work with a gtx 1080?

CPU: Intel Core i5-6500 3.2GHz Quad-
Core Processor

Motherboard: MSI B150M Pro-VD Micro ATX LGA1151 Motherboard

Memory: G.Skill NT Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR4-2133 Memory

Storage: OCZ TRION 150 240GB 2.5" Solid State Drive

Case: DIYPC Solo-T1-BK ATX Mid Tower Case

Power Supply: XFX TS 550W Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply

GPU: GTX 1080

Also, I'm not very good with PC building but if I were to build this I need to buy Windows too, right? Thank you for your time.

Add 8GB of RAM and add a HDD. I'm not a pro about bottlenecking, but I think your CPU will bottleneck your GPU at 1080p. Buy 6600K or 6700(K).

What monitor will you be using?
The GTX 1080 is more than most people need so if you are on a 1080p monitor your build would work but it is very wasteful

Yeah I'd most likely be using a 1080p Monitor. I think Id go with the GTX 1070 with this build instead.

If you are using 1080p you can run any game on ultra with a Radeon RX480 or an nvidia gtx 1060.
Even the 1070 is overkill.

That should allow you to get a better pc over all and probably for less money
