Hi all,

I have a AMD X2 6000+ and am thinking about buying two 4850's for CrossFire, they wouldn't be bottlenecked would they? That is the best bang for you buck for the lowest price point correct? If not than what els would be better?

Also I have a:

4GB OCZ 667 ram

Corsair TX650W PS

Antec 900 case

Depends, if they are 512 mb, they suck
if they are 1GB, they sell it around 120.
Dual = 240.
Just buy a damn HD5850??? O.O
seriously LOL!
You get eye infinity/dx11 for 10 more bucks. Dont spit on that?
And the bottleneck wont be THAT much, you will still play any game on 1280x1024 or 1600x1200 on max settings.

I am pretty unfamiliar with SLI/CrossFire. Does a game have to support a SLI/CrossFire configuration for you to be able to utilize two GPU's? My other thoughts was to go with a GTX260(link below) by it self. Or use my current 9800gt and go SLI with it. How good would that be in SLI(9800gt)?(link): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130450

GTX260 $150

HD4850 $90

HD5750 $130 Is this card any good? Compared to a (HD4850/GTS 250).

I know you said the HD5850 but that one is $270. It's a great card but too expensive.

thanks

Ok then Go HD 5770. It's the best you can get for one, its the power of a single HD4870.
Then, when the prices will drop, buy another one and you will get more performance then a single HD5850. This HD 5770 scales just GREAT.
it goes from a HD4870 straight to a HD5870 sometimes. It even reach the performance of an actual crossfire HD5850. 100% scale. never saw that in my life. 60fps to 120fps.
Incredible.

Go HD5770. since you wanted two HD 4850. Btw those were 512MB cards, they are pointless. Take a single HD 5770 at 150$

The HD5770 is about 5fps worse than the HD4870 currently and I don't think it will outperform the HD4870 by a significant scale if any????? after its driver matures. Hence, it won't be bottlenecked by your CPU according to xaira.

ENOUGH SAID.
Hd5770 MIDRANGE on crossfire will rape any current HIGH END SINGLE GPU.

QUIT TROLLING!!! 7___7 or I will hunt you >=)

Yeah, I think I'd go for the HD5770 and then wait for a price drop for a second. Yes, I have found the Guru3d.com a helpful place to look for benchmarks and the sorts. Thanks again all for the help. I will came here again if I have other questions that I can't find a answer myself.

Stop your noob trolling and talking!

HD5770 performs much less than HD4890 with its price being about the same(at least in NZ)! I am not a fkn id1ot who would whine and pay for HD4890 price to get a much worse performance!

In addition, 2xHD4770 is better than HD5850 because 2xHD4770 is more expensive! In addition HD5850 is better than 2x HD5770 in both power consumption and performance according to THG acticle Cysis Benchmark

You are the one who should stop trolling and shut up!

....... you realize....that you look stupid...right..? o.o

You are rejecting DirectX 11 while games are coming JANUARY.
You are rejecting possible EYEINFINITY TECHNOLOGY
You are rejecting ATI Stream (equivalent of CUDA that nvidia is so proud of)

And all that for WHAT?
http://www.guru3d.com/article/radeon-hd-5770-review-test/14
3 FPS?
http://www.guru3d.com/article/radeon-hd-5770-review-test/15
MINUS 6 FPS?
http://www.guru3d.com/article/radeon-hd-5770-review-test/17
MINUS 30 FPS??
http://www.guru3d.com/article/radeon-hd-5770-review-test/18
4 FPS??

Plus the power consumption:
# System in IDLE = 228 Watts
# System with GPU in FULL Stress = 321 Watts
VS
* System in IDLE = 223 Watt
* System with GPU in FULL Stress = 370 Watt

Is your PSU even ENOUGH? + overclocked to 900MHZ = MORE WATT.

It's time t EVOLVE man. If the HD 4890 was DRASTICALLY superior to HD 5770, then id say go for it, fk DX11.

But they perform around the same (And the HD5770 wasnt even driver tweacked yet) but one has 4 advantages over the other.

Now if you ever want to crossfire someday, you want me to show you results of poor HD4890 Crossfire?? it's LAME compared to the immence power you will get by crossfiring 2 HD 5770.

Are you stupid???
Even 1 Is enough to beat HD4890. Two is a plain, sweet, overkill.
Don't you understand? Dx11 performs BETTER. the HD5770 will have another speed advantage over HD4890. And while everybody will be playing the latest DX11 titles with awesome graphics, you will stick to poor performant DX10.
Im just trying to help you dude relax.
You know what, Ima shut up. Go waste your money.
Sorry for trying to make you see a simple fact.
