I recently own a intel dual core e5400 2.7gig processor which does not sync with my 9800gt gpu so I decided to have a used intel xeon e5450 3gig imported from usa via an intermediate party. They told me that since xeon mobos are expensive they will mod a core2quad mobo with a LGA 771 xeaon and both mobo and processor will cost around 100USD.would it be an effective upgrade to enhance my gaming experience ?

Not really, no. Its still a very outdated platform that will struggle to run most newr CPU intense games. it will not be much better than a E5400.

But there will be a small improvement. Then again you could have just overclocked the E5400 and matched the speed.

IN my opinion you are wasting money.

Thank you for your opinion .will I get a significant performance boost if i move to core2quad q6600 processor compared to the improvement I can get from xeon e5450.Which processor out of these two would be more
adequate for hardcore gmers :q6600 or e8400 ?

I definitly wouldn't use that Xeon in a gaming rig. Server CPU's are built to handle a much different beast my friend. I would simply save that $100 and start saving up for a new build. You can build a much more powerful system for around $700.
