my main question is to understand how to read such CarFax - View: https://imgur.com/a/YffkKDR
(backup as a PDF https://docdro.id/OPaVscz )

accident 1
09/15/2015 Damage Report Accident reported Involving left front impact Vehicle was not damaged

accident 2
11/04/2016
Damage Report
Damage reported
Damage to left front
Damage to front
Damage to right front
hmm left, front, right - this would suggest a serious collision?

accident 3
03/09/2018 New York Damage Report Accident reported Involving rear impact

hmmm what do you think of these? seller got this at the auction so he wouldn't know ...

and at the bottom says:
Connecticut Damage Reports: Provide an estimate of the extent of damage in its accident reports for the following:
- MINOR: The accident damage does not affect the operation of the vehicle and should not compromise vehicle safety.
- FUNCTIONAL: The accident damage affects the operation of the vehicle and/or its parts. The vehicle could be driven from the accident location.
- DISABLED: The vehicle cannot be driven from the accident scene due to damage. The vehicle had to be towed or hauled away from the accident location.

these are contradictory conditions FUNCTIONAL VS DISABLED hmmmm why are they both stated?

what else should I get from this report? thank you ...

more info - I might as well post the pictures and the only info I have so far:

2009 Hyundai Santa Fe
$4,999
Driven 130,000 miles

what do you think?

I am heading to it - I am going to check it outside ... inside ... test drive it ... take it to a mechanic ...

thank you ...

On the CarFax alone, no.

But, take it to a mechanic, get a feel for it in a test drive. Make sure the body is straight - between front end damage (potentially minor) and being rear-ended, you may have some impact/bending to the frame.

Biggest red flag to me though, is the seller bought it just under 2 months ago. If it's not a used car dealer, why are they selling it so soon - that will probably be your most important aspect to dive into with them.

yes right now the seller is a dealer or "curbstoner"

from Facebook Marketplace

Make sure you buy this car from a licensed dealership
or you may be a victim of curbstoning, which is illegal. A
curbstoner poses as a private seller to sell vehicles for a
large profit. Not cool
- says on a CarFax report by CarFox

BUT I think I see what you mean:

01/29/2019 Michigan
Motor Vehicle Dept.
North Richland Hills,
TX
Title #601H0280237
Title issued or updated
Titled or registered as lease vehicle

what does this mean? was it just a title update? or change of ownership by "owner #3" ?

looks LIKE A NEW OWNER since this is what happened when owner 3 took possessions at

04/07/2015 76,451 Connecticut
Motor Vehicle Dept.
Stamford, CT
Title #035236631
Title issued or updated

BUT WHY WASN'T THIS REPORTED BY CAR FAX AS OWNER #4

I am telling you there needs to be a class on how to read these reports

and they are not clear as they could be :/

and now owner 4 sold it at an auction?

02/11/2019 134,727 Auto Auction
Eastern Region
Vehicle sold at auction

but CarFax states only 3 owners :/
sold on Facebook Marketplace
