Hi Toms,

Once again, I need your help on my new rig. Here is my idea for the time being
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/dHdKQP

I have some doubts in my decision, so here are some of the things I wanna make sure of before I spend big bucks
1.If a Ryzen7600X is $5 more expensive should I go for it?
2.If I'm to choose 7600X(since it consumes a lot more power) would it be a waste if I don't OC?
3.I had a good run with multiple TT PSUs for a decade but I heard good things about Corsair. I would love to have a rig that lasts as long as possible, but its price kinda staggers me(RM850X is $141.53)

My budget limit is around $700 and the price of each component(except the CPU) could go lower up to 5-10% by the first week of every month.
Also, I'm not in a hurry to get them, if there are some new tech coming up in the future, please kindly share your insights.

Thx for your suggestions Toms

Hey there,

First things first, change the ram you've chosen with a 2 x8 matched kit or better 2 x 16gb matched kit. This will give you dual channel ram, which is huge for Ryzen CPU's. 20% difference between single channel and dual. Faster ram like 6000mhz, would be optimum for your CPU.

Corsair make many good PSU's. There's the TXM/RMx/RMi/RMe, but also other good brands. Seasonic GX, Super Flower Leadex III. The TT looks fine. It's not a very demanding system in terms of hardware.

The 7600 although 65w, does draw up to about 100w at full pelt. So, I'd prob go with the 7600x for the extra top line clocks, and the higher binning means the 7600x may OC better, if that's something you want to look at.

Initially, RAM was the last thing I planned to look for. But thx to you, I just found a pair of Kingston Fury Beast 8GB 6000Mhz in an IT flash deal.

About the PSU. I do think that 850w is overkill for my system, but TT is the cheapest one with 10yrs warranty that I found so far. It is some kind of expected lifespan for the component, I take it?
Should I be less concerned about wnty or look into any other aspect?

Thanks again for replying

Quite a few changes I would make. A620 chipset isn't great, I would stick with B series as a minimum.

Much better CPU cooler for the money. If you want RGB, Thermalright does have several models that have that that are cheaper still, but not quite as cost/performance as the peerless assassin.

With a lower power GPU you really don't need to go quite that big on a PSU, but the price is about right for quality as you said.

2x16GB memory with a decently low latency. It costs $30 more up front, but is way more efficient than buying one stick at a time and hoping they get along. The faster the memory is the more important that they be in a matched set.

5$ for the 7600x, absolutely. You can always enforce a power limit to make it very much like a 7600 if you want to. (Eco mode in the BIOS)

I believe the Intel 670p has dram cache, so should be a little faster for a OS drive.

Memory and storage prices do fluctuate rapidly. And MSI is really pushing their budget motherboards lately, but not sure how long that will last. Personally I would spend even more on the motherboard so that if ever wanted to drop in a bigger Ryzen chip it would be comfortable to do so.
