Hi All,

I was wondering if you guys could help me with my potential build as this is my first build out of retail. the PC will be used almost exclusively for Gaming and Streaming, preferably i would like to run those games at their upper/maxxed FPS. Most will be from the ARMA series or Dayz which i think are heavy on the CPU. A few questions (Please excuse the noobness):

1. Will i need to buy the cards for the mobo, ethernet etc?
2. Can i be a little more cheap when it comes to the MOBO?
3. Is my GPU right for the needs i have/CPU(maxing games etc whilst maintaining a stream)?

Here is the Parts:
CPU: Intel Core i7-4790K 4.0GHz Quad-Core Processor (£239.99 @ Novatech)
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler (£25.49 @ Novatech)
Motherboard: MSI Z97-GAMING 7 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard (£134.99 @ Novatech)
Memory: Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory (£51.00 @ Aria PC)
Storage: Samsung 850 EVO-Series 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive (£79.00 @ Amazon UK)
Storage: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive (£38.34 @ Aria PC)
Video Card: Palit GeForce GTX 770 2GB Video Card
Case: Corsair 200R ATX Mid Tower Case (£49.19 @ Aria PC)
Power Supply: EVGA SuperNOVA NEX 650W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply (£63.31 @ Amazon UK)
Optical Drive: Samsung SH-224DB/BEBE DVD/CD Writer (£10.16 @ CCL Computers)
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 8.1 Pro - 64-bit (OEM) (64-bit)
Total: £691.47

thanks you guys in advance!

Too much money on the CPU+Mobo and a weak GPU compared to those. Sure ARMA is CPU hungry but you'd be good with H97 + Xeon 1231 v3. Should allow you to get better GPU. What's your budget and what parts do you have already?

I agree... An i7 is kind of overkill.

I would spend up to around £800 which is around $1200 it think. I have a good deal on the i7, i know its overkill but should be okay right? Any money i can save is great and i will put it into the GPU . Would any H97 do, as i can see some pretty good prices on those? There is a £50 difference which i dont mind between the i7 and the Xeon so it would be better if not a little more expensive right? Mainly im accounting for the performance hit from streaming it.

Thanks for the reply

Not a simple task, actually. As always, Windows eats 10% of the budget

I know R9 280x is on par with GTX770, better in some games, worse in others, but it has 3GB of VRAM. You realize 770 costs 260 quid or more? That pushes your build way over 900 quid. If you can spend that much, take this
