Generated by PCPartPicker 2015-03-01 18:08 GMT+0000 This is the build that was recommended to when I asked for a pc build. I plan on buying the parts next week just asking for advice would you make any changes?

Solution

That looks absolutely fine. The only thing that I might change is removing the optical drive if you don't think you will use it. Otherwise you look good to go IMO.
That looks good but for the same price you can get a 980:

+1 although I would change this power supply for an XFX 650W or Seasonic 620W power supply; the Corsair CSM series of power supplies uses poor capacitors and I would never personally use one of those power supplies.

Good point - I guess I've just been really lucky with Corsair so far :)

What would the difference be between the 970 and the Gtx 780?

Solution

Sweet, looks like I'm to go is thermal paste a must?

Thermal paste is included with the CPU cooler you are buying so you don't need to buy any separately.

Ok well I be ordering the parts tomorrow. Thanks for the help I appreciate it.
