Would you make this GPU trade ?

I have a GTX 260 Core 216, and I can trade it in along with $40 for a Radeon HD 4890, Ive been an nvidia guy all my life and I have always hesitated to get Radeons because of people complaining about driver issues. Should I make this trade ? Is it worth the 40 bucks ? help me out here ..

I wouldn't make the trade. Even if it is worth the money it's not worth the hassle and the risk.

What games do you play at what resolution? That't not much of an upgrade, the 4890 isn't really that much faster then the GTX260. Unless your resolution is high enough that your GTX260 is struggling, I wouldn't bother trading. Straight trade no cash I would, but not if I have to pony up more money.

Assuming that it is the 1GB version of the 4890, the cards retail for approximately the same price both right around the $200 price point. While the 4890 does typically outperform the 260, I don't think throwing in 40 bucks would make it worthwhile. If it is the 2GB 4890 it might be an even trade.

The difference between 512MB and 1GB is minimal under most conditions, so 2GB wouldn't be any better than 1GB. More memory=better graphics card is a common myth and that's why they make cards that have 2GB memory.
