For programming, two displays are great. Probably stick to the 17" if I were an artist or a serious games player though.

I can't stand 1024x768 resolution so I'd say no. Try and convince them to give you the TFT8030.
I might sell my TFT7020 on Ebay and see how much I can get for it so that I can get the larger monitor.

The TFT8030 has a much lower contrast though...something I definetly won't be able to stand.
