sorry but i am just complaining.. I put off installing 24H2 as long as i could but recently it AUTO installed itself on my PC.. The only way i had prevented it updating previously was keeping explorer patcher on my PC.. it would not install the update because of it. but NOW regardless of explorer patcher or not. it just installs.. no way to avoid it and it has been causing lots of things to no longer work that were fine before.

Programs I had in Startup.. they no longer start.. just wow... I can't even drag a program to the startup folder.. it actually moves the program file instead of creating a shortcut. but i found out you can use ALT and drag and it will create a shortcut.. but it still doesnt work right.. grrrr

Microsoft have been tampering with their OSes since Windows 8(or when they decided to treat their OS like one meant for the phone instead of a desktop). You're advised to just keep a backup of all mission critical data, then see if you can perform a system restore prior to the update if you want to go back to the way things were.

What version of Windows 11 were you on prior to 24H2? I've had a few hiccups but I reinstalled the app's I needed after uninstalling them and rebooting the system.

It's curious how the rest of the world, including me, run 24H2 without issue. The problem is more likely to be within the Windows system you were upgrading from - especially if you run many apps or drivers that are not Windows 11 compatible. I would suggest doing a System Restore to before the 24H2 upgrade and then run the following commands, one after the other...
Code:
dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
sfc /scannow
If either of those commands fails to complete or generates errors that were not corrected, then you have issues on your existing system that need resolving.
