Sucks? That's an understatement.

I used to have an IBM machine in the olden days and had IBM come to fix it and it never got fixed. Looking back, I have to believe I got shady hardware.

I would:

Re-install OS from scratch (if you are installing a bootleg OS am out), update it to current, no additional applications or fancy drivers nothing, and just use it to surf for a week or so. If at this point, the machine is really clean, and you are getting BSOD, something wrong with the hardware.

Depending on the nature of the blue screens I'd probably just suggest backing up your data or creating as image of your hard drive, reinstall your operating system, then copy over your user folder from the saved data. Put it into some temporary folder on the C drive. Scan that folder individually with MBAM or AVG to make sure it's clean, then sort the individual folders to your user area now.

This is often a much faster fix than trying to trouble shoot possible BSOD issues.
