Interesting story. They included a link to the actual thread to make it easy
for players who have cancelled to actually post to the thread. I wasn't sure
if I would still be able to post because I believe only subscribers can
post. But as with all MMOG cancellations, there's a period of time at the
end of your billing cycle. Both my posts from both my accounts were accepted
and posted.

WoW's #1 selling point is the excellent quests. If you cannot complete
or obtain quests because the opposing faction is azzrap0ring the NPCs
for "honor", that gameplay is gone and there is no point in staying.

But such "exodus"-threads on boards can be safely ignored: The "I'm
leaving" whiners always stay - after all they are addicted enough to
care about it.

How rampant is this problem? What kind of crack are Blizzard
employees on? Seriously, why would they give bored level 50s
something like this? It's insane.

I'm not sure the exodus is fake. Guild Wars is opening its doors
tommorow ...

I wouldn't say that - customer feedback is customer feedback,
and after having left City of Heroes in the wake of its Issue
3 fiasco in January I'd disagree with the claim that the people
who threaten to leave "always stay". I spelled it out on the
NCsoft web forum, and then I voted with my feet when it was
clear that there wasn't going to be a timely response to the
things that were bugging me.

Now, it *would* be safe to point out that at the time I didn't
anticipate being away for very long - just long enough for
them to roll back the stupid 25+ boss changes that had left
most of the taskforces and trials effectively broken. But
while making the decision to change them back took about
10 days of pointless foot-dragging, implementing the change
took a month, and by that time I had come to the conclusion
that there are a LOT of things about WoW that I like better
than CoH.

The chance I'll go back to CoH now is maybe 25%, and that
action would be DIRECTLY linked to whether I think that
Blizzard is 1) screwing up, and 2) dragging its feet about
fixing the bugs that new content have introduced. I don't
have any particular doubts about #1. #2 is still up in
the air.

We should NOT have to wait for a new round of bugs to be
introduced before the present ones are fixed. It's just
that simple.

I went back in Feb to CoH and couldn't get past a single day of
play. WoW simply blows it away in terms of depth. This is one
reason why I do want to go back to WoW but with fiasco after
fiasco I'm just left wondering WTF Blizzard is thinking.

I might go back in a week after the current Honor system madness
passes. I'm not willing to "camp" an NPC and wait for it to spawn
just to get a quest.

I left WoW because being a priest was torture. They kept nerfing
everything about a priest, and basically making a priest a paladin who
dies quickly. There's nothing a priest can do that a paladin can't.

MMORPGs have yet to figure out a way to make a good support class, at
least the ones I've played (ie. CoH, WoW, well... DAoC a little bit got
some of it right for a while there...)

Other than get a group any time you want before the words "lfg" are out
of your mouth, solo efficiently, and kick ass in PvP, you mean?

Except they *don't* get honor for those kills. That's why I don't
understand why the retards keep killing them.

For what it's worth my Rogue could consistently kick a Paladins
ass in PvP even when they were four levels above me. The only
times I lost is when I was just one level below using the next
uber sword.

The trick is to use kick to prevent the Paladin from healing
themselves. That way you only have to fight them once. I suspect
we'll see Rogue nerfs soon since the "Combat Rogue" build is just
too powerful.

The only downside to Rogue is that it's extremely twitchy as far
as MMO combat goes. You really need to be able to pull the right
moves at the right time to be effective and it does take
practice.

To trigger a response from players.

Blizzard, introduce dishonor for killing non-guard NPCs ASAP.

What's worse is that they have created a contest for a new 6800GT video
card for whoever gets the most "honor kills". Since you can get
"honorable" kills by ganking someone up to 12 levels below you, or for
killing someone who is fighting a mob, or a stealthed rogue backstabbing
someone who is resting or afk etc... Blizzard has created a real life
incentive system for griefing. I usually play on PVE servers so it's not
quite as bad there. But I occasionally pvp with friends on PVP servers, and
it has virtually destroyed the game. Large bands of 60's roam the map
killing everyone they see regardless of level, killing vital NPC's, camping
corpses and graveyards and dungeon entrances.

Ignoring the fact that that statement is flat out false (Mind Control
and Shackle being the two most obvious counter-examples), priest healing
spells are either much more powerful or much cheaper, if not both... and
that's disregarding the hugh difference in the size of their mana pool.
Anyone who thinks a paladin can do a priest's job past level 10 is an idiot.

Hint: Stop playing your priest like a paladin.

When will people learn the only solution to the problems in MMORPG is to
make them less M1?

lol what a joke this is. Firstly the short piece says "mini-mass"
(wtf??) exodus and "hundreds" of users. Do you know how small a
percentage this is. So there is nothing mass about it, just mini.

Another example of poor internet journalism.

Dunno. I left. Game is boring. Players are dweebs. No more Thrasher
bucks for Blizzard!

?? Priests are one of the best 1v1 pvp classes in the game, one of the
most saught after classes for high instance raid instances, and very
good in group pvp.

Your post is very uninformed, and I'd not be surprised if you haven't
even played the class / wow at all.
