[SOLVED] Wraith amd’s cooler problem

Recently I started building my first pc, but it wouldn’t turn on so I decided to remove some components to see the problem. When I removed the amd stock cooler from my cpu and tried putting it back it wouldn’t screw back in. There’s just 4 holes in my motherboard and I don’t know how to fix it. My motherboard is a msi x470 pro max

Sounds like the back-plate that the heatsink screws screw into must have fallen behind the motherboard when you removed the screws.

I've built over a hundred PCs and the first six taught me to build up the motherboard on my wooden bench and all the bits and cables until I've finished and can fire it up.

Only when I'm happy with the result, I put it all into the case.
