write protected error USB

hello all. few days ago i installed windows 8 through my usb flash drives and used rufus as a boot media. last night when i plugged my usb and tried to format it wont format and shows a write protect error. and now its not showing any space available or total. i want to use BOOTICE to restore my usb storage. but first i must solve this wrte protect problem. i have tried all the mentioned dos solutions and registry edit solutions. dont know what to do.. in DOS it only shows 4Mb of total space

You could try reformatting it via a different computer/device, to see if the issue still persists. If that doesn't help, you could check out this tutorial: http://www.wikihow.com/Disable-Write-Protection. Hopefully one of the methods described there helps you fix things up. Another option would be to check the USB flash drive manufacturer's website for a formatting tool, so that you could try to reformat the pen drive this way.
