Writing images to USB creates invalid files on USB.

I experienced an error 0X80070570 while trying to write images from a HD to a USB stick. I have then since tried to transfer the same images to another HD, to Dropbox etc... but whenever the images are transferred to a USB they end up becoming "invalid images". I have tried other files from the HD and the same thing happens, "invalid images". However I have tried writing the same files to CD and these burn fine, can be viewed on the CD and removed from the CD. All images are viewable on the HD and are able to be transferred between HD's easily. I have also ran a CHKDSK on the HD where the images were originally stored and there were no errors or bad sectors reported. So I'm pretty stumped. Why are the images not able to transfer to USB?

Looks like you can get this error if the USB is corrupt or something on it is. Format it then try again

I had the same error when I tried to reinstall Win8 on this. Got so far extracting the files this error popped up

In the end, I had to remove this hdd put it in a working computer / delete its partitions then it worked

That's what I thought but the USB isn't corrupt I don't think - its brand new and I've formatted it a few times today as I've been trying to solve the problem. I also have about 5/6 different USBs and I have tried them all, same thing happens: some of the images are invalid and some are ok. I have even tried loading the images onto Dropbox, all worked fine. I downloaded them onto a laptop - fine. Tried to write them to the USB again and once again it was showing some invalid files.

But what program are you using to put whatever on the USB. And how big are these files?? And whats the USB formatted in?? FAT32 or NTFS?

I'm not using a programme, I'm just dragging and dropping from either the desktop to the USB or the HD to the USB.

The files are up to 20MB each as they are hi res images. All in all the full file is around 7GB.

The USB is formatted in its default format - FAT32.

Have no idea then unless that / those flash drives are dodgy or something. Or youre using a hub or something

I don't think they're dodgy, Ive just tried it on another USB stick I have used many times and the same thing happened - invalid images. Im not using a USB hub either.
