Hi all,
Recently I received a 1080 graphics card from a friend. The 1080 has a 8pin power slot, but my psu (550w) only has 2 6 pin cables coming out of it.
My question is if I should buy an adpater, connecting the 2 6pins into 1 8pin, or grab another psu (500w be quiet!) which has a 6+2 pin connector or lastly just buy a whole new psu.
thank you.

Solution
Another psu.
Avoid using adapters, as you're essentially running the unit outside of specifications. If anything goes wrong after using one, it all falls on you.
