After reading all the posts here I went with the 740dxl maxtor 80gig. I thought I bought the liquid bearing drive #6L0.., but now I realize a got the ball bearing drive, no wonder its so loud. I believe the performance is the same though, right?
Edited by logger on 05/29/02 03:18 PM.

ok, If I pick a stable, but fast raid config, what # would that be 1,2,3? How many hard drives would I need?(I know they all have to be the same kind). What jump in performance could I expect and apart from the drives What can I expect to pay for the controller cards?

oZHardware posted an article that might help:

That answers my questions. Thanks
I decided not to raid whereas I want stability and speed and the 1 configuration didnt seem to add any benefit.
