wrong memory for mobo

Just building media pc, booted up for the first time blank screen.Because this was my first build went through everything contacted Abit they forwarded procedure and it pointed to mobo sent it back came back ok :( eventually traced to memory crucial 2gbkitddr2 pc2-5300 even though this is supposed to be compatible does any body no of a 2gb memory that will work with my mobo. My build is listed below ,found this same problem on abit forum

abit il-90mv mobo
antec fusion black case
intel core duo t2400 cpu
500gb samsung sata11 300 h/d
hauppauge wintv-hvr 4000
crucial 2gb kit ballistix memory ddr2 pc2 5300
 
You have the wrong motherboard. That is a socket 478 motherboard. You need a socket 775 motherboard.
You might want to buy Gigabyte GA-P35... model of your choice, which is very popular here.

This is a socket 775 mobo and this system was build by pc custom build mag may issue, all i have done that is different was the memory
