Wrong Memory Speeds?

Hi! Quick question, I'll get right to the point.

I have this mobo: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157280

I ran a couple tests (PCMark & CPU-Z) and they are showing that my RAM is at 667 MHz. Any idea why?

You have to OC the RAM in the BIOS.

Usually if it's that low, the motherboard is displaying them at half their rated speeds. This isn't bad you just have to change it manually through the BIOS. I know I was concerned when I saw 800mhz or so on my memory.

Aw crap I think you might be right...its popping up at 931.3 now after I changed it to 1866 in BIOS. Any reason why it would show it at half the actual speeds?

DDR stands for double data rate. You double the actual speed to get the rated speed. You are running your RAM at the correct speed for 1866 rated ram.

It's DDR ! Double Data rate means ya take what ya see in CPUz and double it which means your RAM was running at 1333,\now that ya set it to 933, double it and you get 1866
