I got a problem where I installed new thermal paste which is the Cooler Master V1 Ic Value on my Visiontek R9 270x and when i play games (Eg.Counter-Strike:GO,GTAV,other games that have high/medium graphics) I hear a weird noise where the fans suddenly boosts up,then I check the temps it reaches around 70c when I play/under-load and 45c when idle.Im really confused, like maybe I used the wrong spread method(I used sort of like a rice grain method thing ) or i used the wrong thermal compound 🙁.

I bought some new thermal pastes which is the Deepcool Z3,bought it for like $3 and a generic one for $1.I tested the deepcool and played some Cs:GO,I got relieved that the gpu temp went from 70c to 55c underload(the temp rises overtime reaching around 65c)40c to 35c when idle, made A LOT of difference right there. The CPU on the other hand got better as well, like from 55c to 50c on boot up and idle.Im going to test the generic one but Im gonna stick with Deepcool for a while and see how it goes when I play for around 2 or 3hrs.

The type, or brand of thermal paste should not matter very much as all. This has been proven in tons of tests done by tech sites. Just your installation method, so I think you added, more or less and that made your temps better. Or your installation method changed a little bit.
