Mines got lines in some parts of the screen, cleaning contacts and some
minor solder cleanup didn't help. Anyone got a broken one, maybe I can
combine the boards to make a working one?

How did you clean the contacts. I have tried every chemical there was to
try and get better contact. Then I took the carts apart and used some real
fine steal wool on all sides and like magic almost all of the carts I
thought were dead or had problems started working again. Make sure you use
compressed air to remove any fine steal wool particles. They can short the
contacts.

Yikes. Don't use steel wool. I use a fiberglass tip contact cleaner pen with
alchohol in it then wipe off the slight residue it leaves with a piece of
cotton, usually my T Shirt.

You can also clean the contacts with a pencil eraser. Works wonders =)

I can second that - had a "windjammers" cart with dodgy
graphics/missing text/sound from ebay arrive yesterday and I was
really upset as I'd paid top whack for it.

Gave it a rub with the magical pencil eraser and everything is fine
now!

An option to steel wool would be a Scotch Brite Pad. Saves you any
grief you might encounter from steel wool.
