Hi

I have a Crystal X Box which is either 1.5 or 1.4 with the Focus GFX
chip

I was advised to get an Xecuter 2.6 CE Mod Chip With Solderless
Adapter but I was told by someone else that these are over the top for
just playing games and turning the X Box into a media center and all I
need is a LLPC Chip.

I would ideally like the chip to be solderless as I'm doing it myself.

What are the thoughts of people here who have modded their X Box ?

Thanks

I would go with the Xecuter. You're talking a few bucks but in exchange
you're getting very solid quality and easy as pie solderless install.

1) Getting a chip with FTP support is a good idea, it can spare you a
lot of fumbling with CD-RWs. I don't know about the Xecuter 2.6, but
you can probably find out at www.xbox-scene.com.

2) Solderless will cause more problems that hard connections if you
transport you XBox much.

FTP support? That's available via software. I've never heard of a chip
that disable or didnt allow this functionality, that would be absurd!

not necessarily, I move my box around alot and have never had a
problem with mine.

I believe that to be statistically true, from admittedly anecdotal evidence.
