Hi, first post on here, go easy on me. Recently built my first PC, specs are as follows;
Amd fx9590
32gb ddr5
250 sandisk ssd
Nzxt fan controller with 5 120mm fans
Dual toxic 280x 3gb cards
Phanteks enthoo pro case
Asus m5a97 mobo
1200w glacier psu
So my question, with most games that allow me to utilize X-Fire, I get very good fps, (BeamNg.drive max settings 80 fps, bf4 ultra 120 fps, but with my most played game, CSGO, I don't think it is properly utilizing crossfire, fps is generally bouncing from 50-150 when set at 150 max, and 50-450 when unlimited. I am considering trading out the 280x cards for one singular GPU, but I don't know if this would be an upgrade or a downgrade. Just looking for some help, thanks.

Solution
Would be a huge upgrade. R9 280X makes the computer quite hot, and FX-9590 doesn't help either. Not to mention that single cards are way more stable.
No kidding hot rig. One faster gpu is always better in the long run. Ive run both xfire and sli and only run a single card now with no plans for sli. Too many issues for me over the years. Maybe wait for the new cards to come out? A single 280x should handle CS just fine at 1080p.

Yeah, stability is what I'm going for, never had a problem with temp, gpu's run about 40-50°C, CPU runs at 45-51°C, even under heavy load. What gpu's would you recommend?
