Hello,

I just upgraded from a 6970 to a 7970 and just a silly question, can i crossfire these? will it help or hurt? Any point to doing so?

Agreed, however:
1. An HD7970 paired with an HD7950 would run at a 2xHD7950 performance.

2. Crossfire introduces micro-stutter. It's not a minor issue as many think. In fact, the concept of "frame times" is increasingly being studied and Crossfire makes this worse (ideally you want each frame to be equal so that at 60FPS you get each frame at 1/60th of a second. Crossfire tends to make the problem of LONGER frame times which is seen as micro-stutter if frequent and short or just "skipping" or "major stuttering" when longer.

3. A common "mistake" many people make is to crank up the quality at the expense of frame rates. I personally tweak my system if needed to achieve 60FPS at least 90% of the time. I'd much rather have SLIGHTLY poorer graphics but have things as SMOOTH as possible (minimal stutter).
